Sunnyside StringBand

Sunnyside Stringband is an up-and-coming collaboration of top notch pickers born out of the musical community in Asheville, NC. Florida-born songstress, Sunnie Rae sews her songs in the fertile soils of Appalachia. Her and her band thrive to bring life to her Original Music and Timeless Covers. This super-string ensemble bends and mends the genre-fitting confinements, playing each tune to its own. Feel the depth of every song with Sunnie Rae's intrinsic voice that will take you on a timeless journey as she weaves through the rhythms of old souls and stories with a new light. Infusing genres from Folk to Rock, Country to Grass, Blues to Fiddle Tunes to harness a swampy holler tone of her very own. The driving force of this project is to showcase original music while intertwining innovative covers in the tradition of keeping music alive! Joining Sunnie Rae in her endeavors of songwriting and live performance, this Stringband features local Asheville, NC legends Mark Schimick (mandolin) of "Songs From The Road Band", Jackson Weldon (dobro & pedal steel) from "Abby Bryant" and "Coyote Rodeo", and JP Furnas (upright bass) from "Empire Strikes Brass" and "Resonate Rogues". Often with Special Guest appearances from local, regional, and national touring musicians. Ages 21 and up
